Tired of crawling into your full–or, heaven forbid, twin–size bed, bumping into your partner, and fighting for covers each and every night? If so, it might be time for an upgrade. A queen-size bed will greatly improve the quality of sleep, but why stop there? Why not go for the big cheese? A queen-size bed is terrific, but a king-size bed is otherworldly. While they are a bit expensive, you won’t regret the decision. If you’re on the fence, here are reasons why you should make the change.
All the Space You Could Ever Need
With a king-size bed, you won’t ever have to worry about rolling off onto the floor. Even with a partner sleeping next to you, you most likely won’t notice them. At 80 inches long and 76 inches wide, one could make snow angels on their mattress and still not touch the edges! If you happen to be a tall individual, you can rest easy in knowing that your feet won’t be dangling off the end. You and your partner will never have to play tug-of-war over the blankets, either, because there will be more than enough for the two of you.
No More Knees in the Back
Getting a good night’s sleep can be difficult with your partner’s elbows jabbing your ribs, their knees digging into your back, and arms flailing onto your side of the bed. This can be even more bothersome if one of you happens to suffer from an ailment (try having your bunionette kicked or a sunburn get smacked in the middle of the night). By getting a king-size bed, this problem will soon become a thing of the past. There is more than enough room to allow both sleepers their own personal space. This means no more bumping in the night, sweating over each other’s body heat, or laying back-to-back in an effort to stay on the bed. Plus, if your partner enjoys cuddling, there’s no reason the two of you can’t for a while and then break off into your own worlds when you’ve grown tired of each other’s company and just want to sleep.
Lie in a King, Sleep Like a King
It’s about time you lived like royalty (or at least slept like it). Not only will upgrading to a king grant you more space, but it will increase the quality of your sleep. Being secluded to your own section of a giant bed will allow you to drift into slumber more easily than ever. Without being bumped into or having another’s body heat boiling you alive, you’ll notice how fast you begin to get to sleep. Another benefit? The bedspread is like a giant sheet of cloud that has been perfectly cut out just for your sleeping pleasure. Plus, there is something uniquely satisfying about admiring your island-size bed right before you dive into it. The squires will be so jealous.
You’ll quickly realize that purchasing a king-size bed was the best decision you ever made. While they can be a bit pricy, the extra room and better sleep will be worth every penny. All that’s left is to break it in. What are you waiting for? Start counting sheep and catch some shut-eye!
